After driving through much of Michigan, to include the wild turkey and elk capitals of the state, we arrived for the night in Cheboygan. It was originally an Ojibwe Indian settlement and stands on the northern reaches of Lake Huron. Yesterday's drive was nice and our tour along the back roads and country lanes of Michigan alternated between fields of corn and sugar beets and stands of evergreens. So where to? Archaeological Excavation was started in 1959 and ...

The moron next to me really likes saying "Cheboygan" in odd bizarre voices, we are not far enough from the oil patch yet for the crazy to have deserted him! (insert eye roll here)!! Interstate 75 speed limit is 70 miles per hour, we are not wasting anytime and ...

... so we went back to enjoy sitting outside - after putting on more clothes- until about 10:00 when it finally got dark!

On Monday the weather was cool, foggy and a little rainy so we decided to stay close by. The downtown was so nice with lots of shops, restaurants and parks. We did a lot of walking and looking. We took a chance on helping out with the cost of our trip by visiting a casino. We can continue thanks to ...
