We had a photo stop at a viewpoint on Mt Tolmie– which would have been great if it had not been so overcast. From there we could see Mt Doug and were told we could drive up it after midday – the road was closed to vehicles in the morning and was popular with walkers then.

... It looks gracious without being pretentious. Walked few metres up the road to Craigdarroch Castle. Walk was through a rather wealthy neighbourhood with very flash houses. The equivalent of our Woolhara maybe. This "castle" really is a grand old house built early 1900's for a family who made their fortune from coal mines and railways. it is four storeys high made of stone with many stained glass windows on ground floor.
