      ... wrought iron. The streets were full of fortune tellers and buskers, art galleries and antique shops. We particularly loved the skiffle bands on the street corners. New Orleans is a happening place.

      ... winter in earnest with a 3 day, 1400 mile drive to New Mexico on I-10. We expect dry, sunny weather. Glad we hunkered down here today during this storm. We hope to make it to Las Cruces by Wednesday afternoon to pick up my new camera at a UPS store. We plan stop in Baton Rouge Trader Joes, to restock some essential supplies.

      After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny!
