... to Kaslo to pick up our car. Then a 9 hour 500 mile drive on winding roads back to Vancouver airport to drop off our hire car. Found the journey really painful this time - definitely bored of these really long drives so looking forward to not having to do this again for the 3 months we are in South America. We stayed at a hotel by the airport on Nina's hotel points from when she used to travel a lot with work. Very early start tomorrow to fly down to New ...

... out of place stomping in with our rucksacks. By far the nicest place we have stayed in, with only 11 rooms, each with a balcony that overlooks Lake Kootenay, and the usual two queen beds - maybe we need to re-think our sleeping arrangements when we get home as we always get very excited when we walk into a room and discover ...

Left Revelstoke at about 11:00am and took about 3.5 hours to drive, including a half hour ferry ride to Kaslo in the Percel and Selkirk Wilderness Ranges. We had high expectations for this place, it is very remote and they don't supply their exact address so that potential bear hunters don't lock onto the site and choose it as a grizzly hunting ground. The tour consisted of a night at the Kaslo Hotel, including breakfast and dinner then being picked up by our host, Julian and driven ...

... lodge as C.J. the hostess is so welcoming.
She has 2 beautiful rooms each with their own bathroom. You have a lovely sitting area and a door that leads to the beautiful area out the back with lovely chairs to relax in.

We unloaded the bikes, grabbed some towels and headed to Ainsworth Hot Springs. We spent the entire afternoon soaking in the warm water of the pool and the very hot water of ...
