      ... took about 15 minutes to reach the top and the views were stunning. We had lunch partway down, and then took the funicular to the town of Capri which is on the shore. Back to the ship by 5:00 for our departure to Rome. Birdie was still on our deck this morning and the plan was for Paul to scout out a place to put him on the 15th deck, where they have grass. But unfortunately we waited too long and when we got home he was gone...one of the crew took him ...

      Took the train from Castellammare into Naples. Different.
      It rained enroute; we could see streets becomming torrents of running water, and as I'm wearing sandels, not impressed. Did need to giggle when the rain poured into the carriage from the roof. Not sure what the problem was, just got out of the way. Fortunately most people had got off at Pompeii Station, so we had space to move into.

      ... out near the train station. It's pretty strange that all places basically open at 7 or 7:30 at night. And when you have a siesta from 1:30 (in some places) till about 5.
