    ... French Beach but no she had seen a bear! She had wanted to see one whilst out here and there he was apparently, clearly walking up a path clearing in the trees. Sadly I didn't see him, but he was a big black bear as I am reminded daily. Bears are quite common this time of year in the hunt for food prior to hibernation.     Monday was pretty much a "fun day at sea" on the Carnival Legend. The ship left at noon in Ketchikan to make the long journey south. The itinerary had us stopping in Victoria from 7:30 PM until Midnight before the short hop back to Seattle. The reason the ship has to stop at a Canadian port is because of something called the PVSA.     ... deck for a mandatory emergency safety drill. If you did not attend, you would be escorted off the boat. Do not ask me how 150 people plus lifejackets, crutches, walking apparatus and wheel chairs are supposed to fit into one of those lifeboats! And we were told to bring along our medication, passports and something warm to wear as well. That all add up, especially the medication, ha! ha!
