At sea, you make your own fun. Thankfully there are so many things to do on a cruise that you can't possibly participate in them all! Case in point - today we listened to a presentation from an Alaskan naturalist (beware of the black bears), ate Fish & Chips at the British Pub Lunch, watched an axe-throwing demonstration from an on-board ...

ended up having three good flights of 3 to 4 minutes in length, ending the day
feeling I had finished out the season on a very positive note. Looking back on

... hour wait in the cold wasn't appealing enough. I haven't found the weather that cold in Vancouver. But Saturday I found the rain far chillier than previously. We discovered Tim Horton's and enjoyed a hot chocolate to warm us up. We finished the day with a dinner out at Joe Forte's, a seafood and steak restaurant. The lobster bisque was amazing. Then back to the hotel to pack. Still space in our ...

... not that far from Seattle, and once we arrived here we had a 2 or 3 hour guided tour of the city. We started off in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park, named in honour of the Queen Mum, and after seeing downtown and stopping at the waterfront, we journeyed to Stanley Park, recently voted the best park on the planet. One of the attractions here is an area of totem poles, which seem to be based on the original one at the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill. Very ...
