... br>Northlands is spectacular. One place in particular, Ocean Beach, just blew me away. It's a beach (duh!) on the end of a spit of land of forest covered mountains that run right out into the pounding surf of the Pacific. There are very few houses, those that there are are amazing places that must be worth a fortune. I swam in the sea there twice, and shared the sea with just one surfer. The waves were frikkin huge, great fun for swimming! I also ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand markjames... they rent the empty rooms out to backpackers. The room is furnished really nicely but the 2 other rooms we share a kitchen and bathroom with clearly have kids in who's parents didn't teach them how to clean up after themselves. The kitchen is piled with furry dishes and the shower room needs some a rub down with a jet wash but its cheap and our room is clean and tidy. Lets go explore New Zealand, ok maybe tomorrow its gettin late (we are now +13 hours to the UK).

Maybe that's just Auckland, time will tell. Though looking at travel tomorrow, everything else seems dear, ie all activities such as white water rafting, caving, bungee jumping *not for me of course), kayaking, skydiving, breathing...
... be hopeful and humorous. I've been out on the bicycle a couple of times, visiting the nearby town of Whenuapai and a shopping center called Westgate. If the weather clears up, I hope to cycle to an island near here called Herald Island that supposedly has some nice beaches. I received an email from another wwoof host that seems like it may be a little ...

... Nice coffee in the local bakery and then a small tour which included visits to both Mount Victoria and North Point (the other slightly smaller volcanic hill) where great views across to Auckland can be taken. Nice chap doing the tour (for me and a coupe of very jet-lagged Canadians).
Following this good start to the day I had a quick lunch and decided to take the view from the Sky Tower – Auckland’s most ...
... bought us the Glacier wedding present and one person for the Machu Picchu trek. It was a pretty easy decision though as Phil wants to trek when we get to Peru and I wanted this one. So decisions made we were off on our separate ways. Although I wasn't on my own for to long as I met a girl that Phil and I helped get her van out of a ditch the day before :-)

... right in the city and is also an extinct Volcano, big crater and all! We hung around there for a while snapping pictures and taking in the panoramic views of the city. Following that we grabbed some lunch then headed to the Auckland harbour bridge to get harnessed up for our free bridge walk. A few people had signed up to do the harbour bridge bungy jump as well but we decided not to as its fairly expensive and its not the most beginner friendly jump! There seems to be bungy ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand alandrach... warmth. The sun was behind trees now and the wind in the canyon was anything but warm. The river flowed quickly from the rain that collected in the last few hours. It was stream bashing weather alright. It should be noted that New Zealand has moderate danger of flash floods where so much rain collects that rivers just flood and many of the canyons we were in only offer flat walls to cling to. The river was cool but moving through it ...
Piha, North Island, New Zealand redmonster... but it was cancelled :( As was our paragliding adventure yesterday, due to wind. But, our new friend Bob told us that he watched a woman fall to her death when half her parachute collapsed, and it make me rethink the plan to paraglide today. Anyhoozles, we are slowly saying goodbye to the place where we leave our hearts until we can retrieve them shortly. Goodby Vudu, where we greeted each morning with delicious flat whites and ...
