Enjoyed a nice meal at Joe's steak house as recommended at the visitor's centre. Very busy place - had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Saw young people dressed up for a dance. Dresses with tulle skirts looking a little like ballet tutus were the favourite. Braces were the fashion for the boys. Most of the other diners were quite elderly. Wes enjoyed a Filet Mignon while I had their fish and chips served with vegetables. ...

Planning for this trip spanned the better part of a year. Just trying to figure out the logistics of where we wanted to visit and how we'd get there was a feat in itself. Finding flights that were convenient and wouldn't break the bank was ...

Had the good fortune to be invited to participate in a pure bred Angus aution. Cows in this part of the world spend their life grazing hundreds of acres. These farms dominate the Northern Virginia, Shenandoah Valley landscape. I have grown up with family members farming and never really had an idea for the value of these animals, the value of the land they are grazing and the science of farming beef cattle-until today.

    Karen's and Sharon's Day
I enjoy Vegemite toast for breakfast, then Sharon and I are off to the local hairdresser for my hair cut and colour, the red colour turns out great, we all know how getting a red colour at a hairdresser can go so wrong.

Manicure and Pedicure Spa treatments for both of us which were amazing. Then off for a girly lunch of soup and salad. I try to put my tray and dishes back at the end of our meal and drop the lot on the tiled floor. ...
