... einen getrockneten Gemsbock (sprich Biltong vom Gemsbock) gekauft. Im Quartier wird wieder gekocht – Gemüserisotto. Für uns zwei Nichtvegetarier mit Hühnchenfilet. Der Chenin Blanc dazu schmeckt gut. Wir essen im Freien auf der Terasse und die Pfaue die am Weingut herumspazieren gehen bereits schlafen indem sie sehr hoch in den Baum neben dem Haus hinauffliegen. Das schaut ganz danach aus, als ob wir Morgen keinen Wecker ...

... in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Elgin. Joined by another 2 English couples and a few others from Europe (who were as dry as toast and hoitey toitey so didn’t really integrate with us!!) we got our lecture on the making and tasting of wine, the history and all that jazz. The wineries were all set nestled in the hills with absolutely stunning views - it was gorgeous!! Then the fun began a minimum of 5 tastings at each place ...
De eerste week...
... deze toestellen een dikke laag stof en spinnenwebben en je weet hoe deze kant van de muur eruit ziet.
Aan de andere kant van de muur staan 2 pooltafels (waarvan er een zonder ballen), verschillende pingpongtafels (maar was er geen pingpongbal te bekennen).
Daarna hebben we een wijntje op het balkon gedronken totdat Christine (onze Duitse huisgenoot) ons halen om op het internet te zijn. Wat fijn om te zien dat mensen mijn blog echt lezen en om even flauwe grappen ...

... to make my time here what it was, for better or worse.
