Hévis is a funny old place. First night in, we just went out for a wander and discovered that there is the world's biggest thermal peat lake in Hévis. Apparently it is a miracle cure for all sorts of ailments. So the place is set up for, and crawling with, geriatrics who wander the streets with bathing rings wearing terry-towelling robes. ... at Zell am See. We decided to spend up large (€34) and drive the Grossglockner alpine pass. This consists of a climb to 2,504m (we did the side road to 2,571m – poor Van-essa!) with endless hairpins, however the views are spectacular and we were very glad we waited the day in Zell am See for the weather to clear.
