Kylie, Kira & James took their bikes by themselves to town and got all of us Donuts. What a first class service! After breakfast, Colleen and I went shopping and took the shoreboat. Back on the boat Kylie took me on the paddle board. We cruised around the boats and picked Kira up. Back on the top of the boat a seal came right by to say hi. New Ramesons arrived on the Island. First Jenny and then Devon&Jeff. We all had a nice dinner together at Avalon Grill. So great to see ...

... California channel between Catalina Island and the Californian Coast is affecting the local marine life. I alongside many other volunteers were assigned to stand on the lookout and take a log of local animals and their surfacing and water-blow rates. Had a leisurely morning on the Queen Mary as checkout was not until noon and I wanted to make the most of the time there. After leaving Long Beach I took a 30 minute hop up I-710, or as I call them in the L.A. area, wacky racetrack! In all of the 4000 total miles I've done only in L.A. have I seen all of the rules of the road ignored at the same time. I did a little more outlet shopping as I still needed one more t-shirt to make it home after which I headed to ...

I left San Bernardino and the a Wigwam Motel behind this morning for the 75 miles or so that lay between me and Santa Monica. Unlike the rest of the journey I saw no countryside at all on this leg with all the various cities running into each other all the way to the ocean. I drove through Rialto, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Claremont, La Verne, San Dimas, Glendora, Azusa, Irwindale before a small gap for the ...

"Yes. Just a minute. What time is it?" Mom greeted the knock on our stateroom door at 7:30am. Oh ya. She ordered room service. Coffee and yogurt. We have no idea that it's light outside since were in our tomb but it's time to get up. In about an hour we're out and up to breakfast, sitting by the pool. It's foggy out and the ship's horn sounds every 4 minutes, warning other mariners of our presence. Boomer and I go down to ...
