After yesterday’s rain, today is clear and sunny. The clouds I can see are in the distance towards the mainland. With a 2.05pm ferry departure back to LA, I have been taking it easy today. I walked up to the Chimes Tower near the casino, where I was told you could get some good views over the town. I took some photos, then ambled back down again.
On a beautiful morning we had breakfast on the patio! We went for a walk to the seafront and then up State Street to the Old Town Area. This was greatly damaged by the 1926 Earthquake. Shops do not open until 10.30 - 11 and by that time we are on the road, so Willie is saving a fortune! We saw a building entitled the Ronald Reagan Centre for Youth. Had a leisurely morning on the Queen Mary as checkout was not until noon and I wanted to make the most of the time there. After leaving Long Beach I took a 30 minute hop up I-710, or as I call them in the L.A. area, wacky racetrack!
