Today was an amazing day. Driving through incredible scenery and looking at peaks that you can't even imagine, towering over anything possible. They were so high the disappeared well into the clouds. We hit the road and Will and Len grabbed a maple bar. We continued onto the boarder checked on our travel details and passports and crossed over into Canada. The scenery was incredible. ... the plain of six glaciers before Thierry had to catch his coach back to Banff. We walked around the lake admiring the scenery and chatting. It was at this point that we saw the first runner. Insane. There was us in waterproof coats, hiking boots, gloves, hats and scarves and she just ran past in trainers and lycra. And she wasn't the first - we even saw some shorts. You crazy Canadians :)

We finally arrived!! First snow storm of season landed us just south of border laid up in hotel for two days. Driving into these mountains was awe inspiring. Magnificent views everywhere we looked. Toured around Banff this afternoon and took gondola up to Sulfur Mtn. Looking forward to soaking in hot springs tomorrow. Snow on ground all around. Warmer weather on its way. ... on another bus, so he took us to one of his favourite spots which wasn't on the tour schedule, Jasper House Lookout which had another spectacular view.
We started noticing on the road that as we got higher in elevation we started seeing trees with snow right next to the road, rather than higher up the mountains.
Then the final scheduled stop was Peyto Lake. Dustin wasn't sure if we would be able to see this one because earlier today, it was closed ...

This morning we were greeted by a Mountie and heard of the activities of the Mounted Police who are not as active as ours in crowd control etc.We then headed up to see 6 Rocky Mountain ranges in the Banff Gondola from the top of Sulphur Mountain but were again frustrated by the clouds and rain.
