... environmentally fused into a hill. It is interesting that the work on restoration began in1951 and one wonders where the money for the work came from. En route to Aritzo the village of Laconi was holding celebrations for St Ignatius - the only Sardinian saint. We visited the market and Leo purchased sox at bargain price but later discovered that the sox had no heel. Driving to Aritzo required negotiation more hairpin turns. GPS got us in not too far from the Tourist info centre which was a good start. We walked around the place all morning, very hot ,ended up sitting in tourist centre air con deciding what to do this afternoon! Well naturally we went to the beach to test out the Mediteranean. It was an extremely gusty and wind blown day, everyone at the beach had an ...

... day as we wove our way through small coastal villages with no one around and land that had been scorched blonde by the hot sun. Finding our accomodation has always been an interesting operation between us and the GPS! This time the chap actually had a sign on his gate telling us the name 'Residence Villa Giada'. He showed us in, nice with air con , kitchenette and another swimming pool. It was so nice to cool off!!

Efisio told us about a noteworthy ...
