... things or showing you where to park your car, they will do anything for a few euros and they just have a plastic bag of their belongings but they are always smiling and polite when they approach. Never seen any trouble with them and the waiter told us that the Government was trying to help them. It was so sad to see them just standing on street corners looking thirsty and hungry in the heat! ... special folding bits hanging from them which were buried in the sand to stop them blowing away! Never seen that in NZ. I walked down to the water , a very pebbly and granite and quartz beach , a bit ******* the feet! The water was nice , just the right temperature and so clear and that amazing blue. ... with olive oil. Next out came some small fish cakes, some crumbed and butterflied mullet as well as a hot grilled fish which we pulled apart with our forks! What a feast , we were so full and then he bought out Tiramisu to finish. It included our wine also which was a Vermentino and the whole dinner and wine cost€54.

So good to have local knowledge about these places otherwise you're just flying blind, really good experience!

... Most of the town has cobble stone roads and paths.

The houses look more like apartment buildings with people hanging their washing on string between the windows. Most of these houses had wrought iron balconies and usually, you see a pot plant or 2 of geraniums. We found out when we were in Zurich that geraniums keep flies and other pests away …natural fly spray. A lot of the shops were narrow and not really big at all, these also had flower pots ...
