Bananas Foster Bed and Breakfast Key West

... pictures to prove it. We ended up hanging out with Cory after the cruise at a few different bars. We all had quite a bit to drink, and didn't have to pay for any of it. It definitely paid to hang out with him for the night.All and All we had a GREAT day!

Today we got to sleep in enjoy some breakfast before we left the beautiful keys. It was a sad day! We would all go back there any day of the week.

... I don't think the guy had ever cut a whiteman's hair in his life! Before returning back to the hotel, we visited the southernmost point of Key West and consequently the continent - bit of an anticlimax, but at least we can say we've been!

... in 1956 by a Sardinian fisherman, Milton Santini, who lived in the Keys. Whilst fishing one day an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin got caught up in his nets and he decided to rescue it. The dolphin, Mitzi, later went on to become the original 'Flipper'. Over the next few decades the centre changed hands a number of times, until finally becoming the DRC, a non-profit organisation, in 1983. ... a ride down to Duval Street and that monument that is the most Southern point of the US. We of course stood in line to have our photos taken at the monument just like all of the other tourists here. Then we made our way back to the hotel to spend the day by the pool. It was all very relaxing, but by mid day we were saying we were ready to get back on the bikes. I guess the next adventure is calling to us. Today we rode so few miles that it isn't worth mentioning.

... The beach itself is clean but the sea suffers alot with brown weed so doesnt look too inviting. We hired a couple of loungers which came with the use of giant rubber rings, snorkeling gear, floating mats and various beach balls. I immediately took to the sea on a giant green ring and floated past the brown seaweed and onto the sandy patch where it looked safe to stand up.

Sail and Snorkeling adventure - $39 per person

was thoroughly disappointed at the snorkeling part of this excursion
because well, the highlight of my snorkel was seeing a DORI (from NEMO
fish movie) fish. We were very far away from any real corals or any
kind of real underwater scenery. Plus, I felt like we were in the water
to snorkel and then they were immediately calling us back. Boo!

... planning our time in Key West, I ran across this fair but hadn't brought up the subject knowing John's opinion of shopping. True to form he looked at me and said, "You can shop all you want till I drop" which meant we kept walking. Big sigh. ... else. I get to the first hallway and take a picture down it. I read some posters and examine some artefacts. Midway down the hallway I find Robert. Robert the doll...locked inside a glass case. ... the bus in the evening and we were treated to a pleasurable ride through the Florida Keys and over the many bridges that like these small islets to the mainland. We both snoozed a bit as we rode through the different keys... Big Pine Key, Marathon, Islamorada and of course the film buffs favourite key, Key Largo... A great time was had by us both and we slept in the air-conditioned bus... dreaming of one day having a key of our own... Lazy Bum Key!!
