Then today was our last day in Faistenau and it was a good day. It mostly stopped snowing and we had something exciting to do! The four hills tournament was on today in Bischofshofen so we drove there. It was only the qualifiers today but it was still really awesome, its a big international competition, though there were no Australian competitors there... ... We parked in the town and walked to the lake which was very nice in the sunshine.

At the lake there was a pontoon which was nice to walk out onto, the water was amazingly clear in the lake you could see right to the bottom. There was also a little swimming pool which was part of the lake but with steps down to it - I cant believe people actually swim in there!! It was iced over at the sides which shows how cold it is. We had a very early start to our trip towards Vienna. Being very ambitious, Paul and I try our best to use our train pass wisely, which means we often do small stop overs to other popular towns on our way to our final destination. This also means early train rides! In any case, Salzburg was a must see according to other travellers we spoke to so we decided a lunch stopover in the town was needed.
