Farewell to the Dandenongs
After spending a couple of days by the pool planning our upcoming trip to WA, Maci's owner returned from her Scout camp and we hit the road towards the spa area of Daylesford/Hepburn Springs, which has 80% of the mineral water in Australia, though not hot.
We had a lovely dinner of pasta and suckling pig at Jimmy's Bar in town then came home …
An Australian Wedding
... there was an open bar as far as beer and wine was concerned and the food was lots of mini main dishes. For example we had mini meatballs with mashed potato, mini boxes of fish and chips and mini risottos just to name a few and then it was followed but mini desserts it was so tasty and very filling. We spent alot of the night with Jemma and Becs and Matt as well as various other friends of Kris and Jen they were all really lovely.

Eighteen hours of gruelling travel and we are home once more. Two hours Saigon to Singapore, nine hours waiting time in Singapore's Changi airport and seven hours to Tullamarine.
Changi airport, to me, always has overtones of what happened there during WW2. In the oppressive heat and humidity the Japanese imprisoned 1000's of civilians in this camp and many 1000's of soldiers in a nearby camp. Now Changi is a monument to Mammon. Designer brands proliferate ...

... at 0430 and outside for a dingos breakfast--sky full of stars and nil wind, looking good for YLHI. Put in a SAR time (Search and Rescue) for YLHI. More breakfast inside a bit later; toast and tea. Checked our manifest thoroughly, then out to a very wet aircraft at 7am ...
Gold Fever
... first, but was very refreshing to be walking in as the sun was quite warm.
From here we headed towards Geelong and then on to Ballarat (pop 90,000). Ballarat is an old gold mining town established in the mid 1800's. It was a nice warm evening, so once we found a place to stay, we went for a stroll. A lot of the buildings have retained their original look. We window shopped as it was Saturday evening.
