... side. Everything was prepared simply, with very discernible ingredients, and nothing was overly fancy for no reason. It was all just, well, yum.

We finished the evening with a stroll through a small piazza, where the locals were watching a friendly football game between Germany and Argentina on big screens, and stopped at the neighborhood pasticceria for two freshly-filled cannoli. Oh, and Argentina kicked Germany's
    butt.

After an early start and a lovely breakfast, we set out in a very comfortable tour bus for Siracusa. We visited the archaelogical area including the famous Dyionisios "Ear". This site has the third largest roman arena in Italy behind the colloseum in Rome and the arena in Verona. We visited a huge quarry from which a lot of the stone had been sourced for Greek and Roman structures in the area. The quarry is now ...

... During the match electricity went out. Happens around here much I guess. Greg and I left and had a great seafood dinner at Quatro Gati!

Ended the day with a gem of a conversation about life, relationships, family, travel, career, wealth and other trajectories unexpected -- I learn vicariously from someone who had been there, done that, and made the life-defining decisions I have been marinating on. Ah, I love the serendipities of travel!
