      ... The Older church is no longer used but well maintained. It has exposed original mosaic flooring in places and frescos cove parts of the walls,. Some of these are in fairly good condition. There is a large wooden cross on one wall with somewhere below it where the locals can light a candle. It turns out that this is the Baptistry of the Newer church.       ... people in at a time for a maximum of 15 minutes. The amazing thing about this artwork is that during the second world war the entire building was destroyed in a bombing, except for the one wall with the painting on. They have now rebuilt around it and created a high tech temperature controlled room to keep it safe from decay.

      ... and sit it out. 19th June. Awoke early due to the heat, at 0730 we were have breakfast outside and the sweat was pouring off both of us. So we have stuck to our decision to move to Lake Garda. The journey took a couple of hours as we stopped off to collect provisions as we plan to stay at least 5 days.
