... however, the surrounding countryside is pretty - vineyards everywhere and distant snow covered mountains. We detoured to Desenzano on the banks of Lake Garda. Clearly a summer holiday town but a beautiful town situated on the shores of a huge lake. The water is crystal clear. Lunch at local trattoria consisting of local trout - scrumptious, a walk around town, purchase of veggies and fruit from local markets and off to the autostrada. ...

We then headed back to their beautiful home and Anita had made my favourite for dinner (a new dish for Lee!)- gnocchi! Anita's homemade gnocchi is honestly above all else- truly the best. Then oh my goodness- Rivella! When we last came to Switzerland we had it and I was so looking forward to ...

... gold medal for Hubby and excellent driving) we arrived at our chosen site of Camping Conca D'Oro in Feriolo. It is a lovely site, right on the lake with its own sandy beach, part shaded with grassy pitches which are unusually large, especially by Italian campsite standards. We walked round and chose one with lake views from several of the windows and set up camp; the vast majority of the occupants are German or ...
