... the hill. Unfortunately visibility even worse today so after the effort of making our way up the hill we could not even see the water. Great villa's though.
Fast boat back, ferry home and we enter our warm apartment at approx 7pm, in time to cook dinner.
Como, well it is not what we expected, much more suburban. However, glad we came to experience and see how those with lots of money actually holiday.
Moving on to Turin tomorrow, stay ...

Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.

... right on the lake, it had gorgeous views of the Alps as well. We walked along the water and grabbed some lunch. It was very nice. We returned to Bergamo, walked around a little longer and went back to the hostel to sleep.

In the morning, we got up early and had some breakfast before we headed off to the airport to go to Greece!

... see a couple of crazy Aussies waving their arms about in front of a hotel. Hooray, after 24 hours flying, navigating the trains and streets in an unfamiliar city, we finally meet brother and sister-in-law on the other side of the world! We all agree that a drink is needed so they take us up the street a bit to a little outdoor cafe where they are serving 'appy 'our. - one drink and a plate for the buffet for €8 each. Perfect. ...

This morning we set off together on the Metro but, while John continued to the Conference Centre, I got off earlier to visit the Brera Gallery and the Castello Sforzesco Fontana. Robyn had told me that the Brera was a "must see". This grand Castle in the centre of the city still has all the elements of a fortified medieval castle complete with moat, drawbridge, catapults, suits of armour ...
