... in the nearby restaurant before boarding the ship.
The weather was now boiling and so I decided to sit outside and catch the sun before heading home to wet and rainy Scotland. Just sitting here it seemed rather sad to be going home when i still have almost 2 more weeks leave before returning to work. However there is one thing I cannot wait to see and that is my little Tom cat who is now 19. The welcome he gives me every time I return from these trips is just fantastic.

... We walked through some of the streets in the famous red light district. It was an interesting experience, and definitely not like anything we have seen before. There were a lot of tourists around the area, but it still felt quite seedy. We were happy to check that one off our list and headed to the Nieuwmarkt, a 17th century marketplace in the old Jewish quarter. We stopped by to see the 13th century Oudekerk on our way to the Bloemenmarkt, a flower, bulb and seed ...

Woke up reasonably early and went for another run along the Rhine. Coffee & croissant from the bakery down the road then back to the apartment to pack up. Caught the 11:15am fast train to Amsterdam, fairly uneventful apart from the undercover border guards checking passports on the train (flashing badges concealed under hoodies etc). Met Mick at Central Station and headed to his apartment just on the outskirts of the city - cool spot with plenty of ...
