Arrivederci Sardinia…
It feels like I've been here for absolute ages, it is easy to see why they love it here so much. We are totally separated from the rest of the world and get quite 'put out’ when someone uses our beach. (All beaches in Italy are public property so the odd person does appear every now and then, luckily not very often.) Peace at last...
... now and then. As the beach wasn’t an option for the first time, I took the car out for a little drive around the surrounding villages. I have been through Cannigione many times so was great to park up and wonder around. It is a quaint seaside village with some lovely shops and cafes. Oh and surprise, surprise some lovely beaches.

... so we'll be down to just 10 people which will be much easier on the work front - less distractions for the kids. Then by Sunday it will just be us which will be great. We haven't actually finalised when we'll be heading back to the UK but will be sometime between the 2nd and 6th September. It looks like nothing will be set in stone this year until the flights have actually been booked - very exciting!!!

Settling in…
... we had already agreed on a late start today as we had a really late night last night. We were all invited round to a friend of their's for pizza. It was just amazing, a stunning entertaining area overlooking the most gorgeous mountains. An insane pizza oven and what seemed like an endless supply of delicious pizzas. And of course a whole lot of people who didn’t speak any English – I seriously have to learn ...

They have very interesting friends as you can well imagine and this week there is a collection of these here. A Pixar Director, an incredibly innovative Oncologist and a very well known Scientist! So dinnertime conversations are inspirational. They are all American so quite unusual to be surrounded by Californian accents! But all the kids are very well mannered and sweet so a pleasure to have around! The food here is just amazing – ...
