We woke up to another amazing Turano breakfast of espresso, freshly baked bread, prosciutto, and cheeses before hitting the road for Taormina, Sicily. A three hour car ride and a short ferry later, we arrived at one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen! The view from my room is breathtaking. We walked the town, window shopped, and even saw the ...

It was so old and the cool thing is, is that they still use it now.
    But ...

We enjoyed our walk through Taormina's gardens.

It had lovely, well maintained, lush gardens and many interesting buildings that looked like treehouse temples.

We thought Taormina was high but we drove higher to another cute town called Castelmola.

    Messina, italy

A travel blog entry by cassie.goehring on Jun 20, 2015

Today our first stop was in Messina, Italy. This is a port that we visited last time we went on our Mediterranean cruise. We decided to do a little exploring on our own this time. We rented a little car ( as you do when you are in Italy). The streets are very narrow and roads aren't that great so it definitely was an experience! We decided to drive to a beach about an hour from the port. We had to drive around for quit some time to find a parking spot and then walked down to the beach in ...
