The weather was a bit brisk, but the sun was making a good effort to shine through as we sipped our café au lait at the viewpoint overlooking the Tour d’Eiffel and the Seine.

We then carried on riding up the rive droit (right side) of the Seine towards Place de la Concorde, the Tuileries Garden, Notre Dame for a picnic lunch, and then to the Rue Mouffetard for a little tour we had mapped out in a book.

... shopping put us behind schedule, and we had to forego the Museum of Decorative Arts. We reached the Louvre through the Tullieries, and, lost each other at the Louvre for a while. ... Tower, went to the cemetary where Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde are buried, went into the French Catacombes, went to the Louvre and Notre Dame, and off to Versailles tomorrow! Despite its dreadful smell, im having a really good time and will upload the 500 photos on my camera onto facebook as soon as I can.

Travel to Paris

We eventually got to our hotel accommodation via taxi, staying in Paris' Latin Quarter in the Royal Cardinal Hotel.

Later we had dinner down by the River Seine then began to explore Paris' Metro system by traveling over to the Eiffel Tower for a look. At 9.30pm the tower was packed so we decided to come back early the next morning.

... then walked to Notre Dame and toured the inside and out of the church. It was the first time in about six that I had visited Notre Dame without scaffolding. I seems that all European churches are always under renovation, but we were lucky this time!
