We had hoped to sneak into a gallery the next morning but in the end we settled for a wander to see Ponte Vecchio (the only remaining ancient bridge, which used to have butcher stalls but the doge objected to the smell so they were replaced with jewelers) and the duomo by day before getting the train to Rome. There was a charity run that morning so the place was mobbed with people in green tee-shirts and some parades.

... searching for goodies for his daughter, we still talked about finding David. So we found the hop-on-hop-off bus again or thought we did, we were waiting at the wrong stop for a horrible amount of time. Andrew discussing the next best thing would be to walk, I said hell no, remembering our antics of being lost in Paris and Womby saying its just one more bridge and we walked for two hours.
