    ... our onward flight to Lima, we stopped in Cancun itself for a few days - nothing much of interest here, it was a bit commercial, a bit Miami beach, with prices to match.     Our first day in Cancun was a bit of a let down, I guess I built this place up in my head as the best destination in Mexico and I was looking forward to it too much, i got a bit disappointed. It was not like I was even in Mexico anymore once we got to the hotel zone, everything was overpriced, it was full of American tourists and it was huge, a lot bigger than I expected.
