... the brewery was bundles of fun. It was particularly interesting to see how the management of the company has changed since it's start in 1903 by the Germans who were colonizing Qingdao at the time. Post-WWI Japanese managed the company until post-WWII when the Chinese finally took claim. At the start of the second world war the label for the beer included a swastika because it is apparently an old Buddhist symbol for balance (or something) ...

Nach Ankunft im Youthhostel erholte ich mich erstmal durch einen 3-Stunden-Powernap, um danach die Altstadt zu erkunden. Auch unser Youthhostel war in einem alten Gebäude der deutschen Kolonialzeit. Qingdao ist äußerst wohlhabend und eine der schönsten Städte die ich in China jeh gesehen habe.

... Center, we were a little confused about where this bathhouse/spa/massage place was. We ended up taking some back stairs into a building and ending up entering Crystal Palace through the employee entrance. Obviously, this made us a little sketched out about the place. Nevertheless, we were led to a more attractive entrance and reception desk where we were shown the list of prices and treatments.
