The next day when we left Merida for Playa Del Carmen on the coast, we stopped in at one of the seven wonders of the world – Chichen Itza. The purpose of the Pyramid was to provide a living calendar for the Mayan Civilization. It is considered one of the seven wonders of the word due to the advanced technical nature of the building.
