First stop Anne Frank museum...after a 2 hour wait in line we were in! Wow the Anne Frank Museum was amazing and not how I had imagined it when reading the book. ... the next train, and arrived with 8 minutes to get the next. So far Belgium have had the worst train services. Never mind though, we got there eventually, had a good munch, and Peter and Joan got longer in bed before meeting us! We arrived at the Mövenpick hotel a little early, but figured we'd chance our room being ready and if not then we'd leave the bags in the luggage room for a couple hours. Turns out this hotel is in a different league to the budget hotels ...

The symbol of the city has become XXX. It has several meanings: the symbol of adult entertainment and drugs which the government endorses without openly addressing the issue. However, the government will say the symbol is for the patron saint of sailors who made up the beginning of the city. The third reason escapes me. Sailors used the Amster River for merchant trade before it was damned (hence the name of the city). This is a very interesting ...
