So after seven escalators and quite a few additonal steps about 25 minutes or so we were back to the summit of the town enjoying the awesome panoramic views that you get when up there at the highest point in town. Sarah clicked a few pictures and got the message "no card", DOH! I had left in the laptop after uploading photos from earlier in the day, so we had the privelege of repeating the process. Later today we look forward to exploring more of the town, a castle, a 300 ft bridge over an ancient Roman aquaduct, and an ancient Roman Ampitheatre that still is in tact here in town. We may even do a little shopping still lots of room in the backpacks.

In the meantime I am off to work on a talk that has been neglected and can`t be any longer as I have a double header in April. Ciao!

... off after all we had walked for what seemed forever and really what can you really see in a crumbling fort? Well we bit the bullet and paid up and were sure glad we did. There were really no parts that were off limits so we were able to explore the lowest points (dungeon) and the highest points (watchtowers) which provided us with some awesome 360 degree viewpoints.

We headed back towards the car and momentarily felt like we were lost but in the end ...

... lunch in an Irish Pub of all things, we had very Italian meals though so it was all good. We started off with some local cheeses and thinly sliced meats, Sarah had Gnochi as a main course and I had a panini style sandwich although it was a different type of bread, we than finished things off with an espresso.....it wasn't a sissy one either it was the real deal-zing! It was a good idea though because we needed the energy to survive our next stop on tour.
