    ... running out of time. However as we were making our way back the motor which was electric ran low of power, as it was a battery. That meant I had to man the Orr and row the boat back to that yard . We were only half and hour late and the guy was pretty relaxed for it, being from the UK I was expecting a late fee but no we took our stuff and left.     ... and got a bit lost, so we had to pull over and check the map. While we did this the boys took the opportunity to take a bunch of weird bike photos! We continued to struggle with them with riding safely on the right...sigh. We got to volendam and grabbed a table for lunch near the water. The break was appreciated!     ... dinner at an Indian restaurant - Gandhi, where I felt it was quite expensive if you consider for a 1 time meal. It is still good if you cannot live without indian food but I would suggest you try something cheaper and more healthier like Soup stalls or sandwich shops. I ended my day by taking a walk around the streets of Zaandam till night 2 AM .

    ... wait at least three weeks to receive our bloody BSN numbers?!

    Three weeks?!

    And just to add insult to injury, my birth certificate has been deemed not certified, because the signature of the person at the Scottish Registry Office needs to be certified by the British Foreign Office by some spanner in Milton Keynes to make sure its legit.

    In layman’s terms, the Dutch want to certify the person who certified my birth ...

    ... for Amsterdam that afternoon. It is a nice sort of freedom to be able to alter a plan with such ease.

    It is difficult to give a succinct answer to what we liked so much about Amsterdam, I think sometimes a city just feels right. We loved that everyone biked everywhere. We loved that it was light out until 10 pm (3). We rented bikes and joined the fleets of bikers as we zipped through the canal lined streets to museums, Anne Frank's House, and great little cafes. ...
