... with me at the wheel, Sergio is far from the slowest thing on Italian roads. 45 mins stuck behind a cement lorry in the twisty mountain roads was at best frustrating but it did help me practise the gears. As we climbed, the fog thickened until we really couldn't see the road signs. At this point, i decided it was Bob's turn to drive again. : )

Flight on time to Genoa...bumpy landing with Ryanair and a woman shouting like we were going to crash....

Arrived at Melia Genoa, and overbooked so they sent me to 5 star Grand Hotel Savoia (lots of history).
No pool here, but gym and jacuzzi in the terrace upstairs. But they upgraded me to the Suite which is fantastic and its downtown so I walk straight to the port in 2 mins.

Phew!! I'm here on the train now!

I arrived at the station early to avoid any line ups. I had to validate my train pass before I could use any of my train tickets.

This whole week was pretty uneventful because I am such a routine of going grocery shopping on Sunday's or Monday's, going to class until Wednesday's, and either say trips or staying in Firenze on the weekends. However this week was such a thrill and so spontaneous!
