We spent several days driving over the mountains to the French and Spanish coasts. Collioure, on the coast near the Spanish border, reputedly produces the best anchovies in the world. We sampled the boquerones (white ones in vinegar) and the salted variety. Both were fabulous.

A bus stop right outside the campsite provides direct busses linking Tossa and Lloret. More punctual than London buses, a rather nice coach pulled up and we paid the princely sum of one euro eighty cents to take us to Lloret.

We headed further down the coast road towards Lloret de Mar because I wanted to see if it had changed much since I was there in the mid-80's. Less than two hours driving and we found ourselves in Tossa de Mar: Another Spanish coastal town that is not particularly camper friendly with nowhere to park.
