Buenos Aires, Argentina joe-egan... weather. I rushed back to the apartment for 7pm and met Armine the finance co-ordinator for the Community Centre Los Pibes. He was from a Villa (a poor social housing area of squalor) but was being taken through University by the organisation and was in return working bloody hard for them. I jumped in the shower and invited Aaron (the American boy studying Law at Harvard on a scholarship – he would share the apartment with me and another guy called David, who I was yet to ...

Buenos Aires, Argentina riversbeyond... Point taken. So I am writing. I have been in Buenos Aires for a full week, and I think I am settling in. It's a strange culture shock--in some ways it's very similar to the US: I am typing on my laptop, using WiFi, on an office chair, in an air-conditioned office. Very much like I would find at home. What's different is things like: The don't have blueberries here. I wanted to buy jam at the grocery store, and they don't have berries--all the ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina beglisc... from which great speeches are made, but more importantly, the balcony from where Madonna sings Dont Cry For Me Argentina. We whiled away our evening spending bloody hours, walking bloody miles, trying to findthe hostel Raza was holed up in. Eventually finding it we spent the evening being entertained by ourselves, with the help of delicious empanadas, the local Quilmes firewater and Patagonian lager.
Buenos Aires, Argentina razandrich... year career break gonna travel for most of it, and he´s only a few weeks in, so jealous. Damien´s also on a career break, got another 6 months or so left. Found out today he used to play football for Westmeath. Today I´ve just been watching Liverpool beat United 4:1, still cant believe that scoreline, as well as watching Ireland beat Scotland, so I cant wait for next Saturday´s game against Wales. C´mon the Grand Slam! Was gonna go out tonight but the Irish ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina jpdutchman... my last full night of the trip ... sigh ... I ended up catching the last metro of the night - the cashier was already closing up, so they just waved me on through. Normally, I would've just walked, but my body obviously wasn't complying tonight, and I didn't want a repeat of that earlier full-body cramp. I was actually quite surprised that I walked around looking for an ATM for 30 minutes, without having any additional problems ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina pwong... that time on Saturdays. Boy, we were really starting to fit in. Luckily the people we were renting from let us stay at the house until late Sunday night because our flights didn't leave until around midnight. We headed down to the famous San Telmo Market Sunday morning...and can you believe none of us bought a thing? They had great stuff but we had no room to pack anything and there just weren't that many good deals. But at least we can ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina unboundJust realised that it has been ages since I last wrote anything....however on a more positive note, I have managed to upload some pictures :o) I didn't have a lot of time so they are literally just dropped in to albums, had planned to write a bit about each one. Nevermind there is always next time. We had a good christmas with some tasty home cooked steak. Still can't quite believe how good the meat is here and how cheap it is to ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina louiseharris... then headed back to the hotel. I'm wondering where I'm going to have dinner tonight - my last night out on this world trip. Anyway, I leave BA tomorrow afternoon on a 17-hour journey via Sao Paulo and London. That should be fun! It'll be another new experience too as I'm booked on a seat that faces backwards - I wonder if anyone has ever fallen out of their seat as the plane takes off..... Probably not. Take care and look out for my final blog from home! Cheers,Keith
