... stay awake for a walk along Corso Umberto (the long and attractive main street) and dinner at a lovely outdoor cafe, George filled me in on his performances a few days earlier - The Riders, the Acord concert and the Astra concert - and his 'orientation' session for niece Tisha who is very kindly flat-sitting in Drewery Lane. It's strange to have a travelling companion after several weeks alone. Who will use the bathroom first? Who will decide where we're ...

If we thought there were plenty of steps in Venice we soon discovered there are plenty more in Valletta. We are at the top of the hill near the national war museum. We moved to the pool for lunch and some relaxing mid afternoon. By late afternoon I was feeling better so we still managed to have dinner at the terrace restaurant and knock off another bottle of ...

Sunday A quiet day today, being a day at sea while the Noordam sails from Santorini, our last stop in Greece, to Salerno in Italy. Mass was 8am - not sure why so early when it is the only day we can sleep in! We decided to skip breakfast as we had the Mariners Society Luncheon at 11am. This is a gathering of previous Holland America cruisers but the only real difference from the usual formal dining in the Vista is that the prosecco is gratis! But ...
