... there were hella people setting off fireworks all day and all night then we got to midnight and stood right underneath the fireworks and thought that was pretty cool. After the fireworks we saw people just littering their champagne bottles and then some idiot just breaking them and being a dick hole. I wanted to jump on him and restrain his stupidity. This pretty town has two towers of the Rocca that were rebuilt in the twelfth century. The older tower was converted into a bell tower when the Duomo Di Santa Maria Assunta e San Genesio was built. This Duomo has been recently renovated and is now in magnificent condition.

... 8220;Fast Ticket” machine worked and I got the tickets. I didn’t notice until after I’d made my purchase that Italo also goes to Bologna Centrale, so I could have used that for the first part of my journey. I’ve been anxious to try them. I watched the trains for a few minutes and got a short video and then headed for dinner.

... hunger made us give up on course corrections and just go to the next restaurant we passed. That's how we serendipitously came across Gusta Osteria where we had an absolutely delectable late lunch. Of course we came out and found the place we'd been looking for right around the corner in the shadow of an unmissable giant church!

The sky started to look menacing and shook loose a few warning drops so we hurried back to Antica Torre to get umbrellas - lovely ...

... Italian guy who lived in the States for a few years and has been helpful since all the messages have been in French and Italian. Then we began to go through a fantastic area. Right through a valley in the Alps. Then I started to remember the names. When I lived in Germany in the 70s we took this route to get to Barcelona. It was favoritea part of the entire trip. Just beautiful. No pictures because I am inanaisle seat ...
