... same time. She's a better driver than navigator :-D.

Only hiccup so far was hot Sergio refusing to start when we stopped in Lucca to find the hotel. 10 minutes cooling whilst we grabbed a coke and off he went delivering us safely to our first destination and a well earned beer.

Day 4 - Rome - Pisa - Montecatini

... boys were welcomed over the public address and had a parade with other youth teams on the field at half time.

After the match the boys played some touch on the field. We then headed off to our hotel in Montecini. A very nice town with narrow streets and typical Tuscan architecture.

The boys had some free time after supper to walk around the town and explore.

Tomorrow we are off to ...

The drive to Pisa was fine but we got lost trying to find the parking area to catch the shuttle to the site. In the end, we just drove to the site and got a parking spot within a block of the Field of Miracles. Note to self ...this is the off season... We CAN get parking spots.

... comes close. A new view every couple of steps, coming straight out of a movie (preferably Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... we seem to be following Indy around a fair bit). Even though the place is obviously packed with tourists, we did manage to get off the beaten track. Most of our time, though, was wandering the streets and canals before sitting down for some solid people watching, followed by some more wandering. We ticked off major sites (St Marks, the Rialto etc), ...

... Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and what the Rose Parade would be if it were sponsored by CNN rather than HGTV. Instead of the costumed crowd holding the strings to a balloon floating overhead, the group in matching costumes rode upon the floats, or danced along side or in front of them.
