... pounding in my chest during the climb to worry about the cold!!

We walked into the cloud and as I suspected clouds aren’t hollow!! It felt more like I had entered a Charles Dickens novel and was walking through a foggy old Victorian London town. ... were batn houses for the men and separate ones for the women! The men had a hot bath, a steam room, a cold one and even an exercise room! The women only had a hot bath! Guess they didn't count! The tour in Pompeii was two hours long, but so hot in almost all in the sun! Everyone came back and took a nap but me! We stay one more day but actually wish we could leave tomorrow for Florence ...

... of the last several thousand years in Pompeii and the last several hours in the travels of Pete and Kathy.

Heading back to the ship required that we again recalibrate for the age we were leaving and how long ago two thousand years ago really is. Pompeii provided us the perfect other “real life” contrast to the aspirational masterpieces of Rome and Florence.

Good night from twenty-first century Naples. It’s good to be back!
