... the ride and packed up and headed to lunch. Enjoyed one final lunch together then needed to say goodbyes and we left for the train station. Train ride to Brussels was very nice - both for the ride and processing all the wonderful people and adventures that was just completed. Arrived at the train station and realized the roads once again were really confusing. Walked a good distance in the wrong direction through the city with all my luggage until I found a subway station - then I ...

... The romantic myth of its 19th century 'rediscovery' adds to its vast tourist appeal. I found the real joy of Bruges was to simply wandering the canal-sides and soaking up the atmosphere of the city and of course eating lots of Belgium chocolate and waffles, not to mention the drinking the delicious cherry flavoured beer! There is no butter and syrup in sight. They are more of an afternoon snack or after dinner dessert. There are shops and food carts all over that sell them. They come with strawberries, drizzled chocolate, and whip cream! Yummy!

... a cheap wine and port. The music was sensational. We were crammed in like sardines in the lower section, whilst we could hear and see the two man band play through the open floor section above. A good way to finish the night, and head back to prepare for the next city, Amsterdam. I'm enjoying the fast pace travel, as with decent planning you can get the most out of the city you visit and then move on to the next adventure. Dakh! (Goodbye in ...
