At 3 PM, we boarded coaches again, this time bound for Ypres (Ieper, in Dutch). This was the site of the In Flanders Field Museum. There were a few things we discussed on the train that needed to be accomplished in Brussels. Waffles, beer, and chocolate were amongst them and were not negotiable.

We met Kate at our pre-designated location, exchanged our welcome hugs and proceeded directly to a breakfast of Belgian waffles whilst catching up and sharing European holiday stories on the way.

There we learnt a bit about the history of printing, how they used to print, chisel all the small letters and put words together, and then sentences, then a whole page etc, as well as the importance of Antwerp in the book/printing world. We also saw some of the firstly printed bibles, amazing libraries and the two oldest printing presses in the world.
