This train to Koln is an ICE train - Inter City Express - it moves along like greased lightening. Screens on the train clock the speed. I know we hit 296km at one point. These trains are smooth, quiet, comfortable and, most of all, faassstttt.

... day out cruising and cycling down and back up the Rhine. When I got there I was greeted by a surprisingly large number of people so proper preparation like bookings should be made for an entire school group taking this tour. Once we all hopped on the boat and found our seats we left the dock and headed south for Sinzig past Bonn. On the way we hopped off and cycled for a short 10 or so kilometres before meeting up with the boat again. It was the ...

... Clare who had been working near by. What a lovely girl and she and her mum both speak such good English. We then walked around the town through an old fortress (every town seems to have one), which was the original old walled city of the town. We later met Lucia for a walk along the Rhine, had a huge parfait ice cream she shouted us at a posh hotel overlooking the river and then got the train back to Cologne. We had such a great ...
