... t deal with the feeding of mice to it :( . But beautiful creatures they are!
Later in the evening we had a big beach party! (we were about 90 people) and it was reeeeally funny! I will say no more. but it was great !!!
And Sunday muahahaa. We woke up quite early and went to this funny activity, scooteroo tours. Where we rode Harley Davidson motorcykles around the town of 1770. I got to wear a leather jacket and some torn pants, haha it was ...
Today we got to experience something pretty unusual around Brissy. A duststorm. The weather was fine this morning, but around 11 it started to get really windy, and once we got outside, oh gosh! the sky was brown of sand and you coldn't see any buildings etc. It really reminded me of the scenery right after a bomb or something, was amazing. and there was so much dust that u could look straight at the sun without problem, as ...
... all over the city.
Well, what a show Brisbane put on for us!
At dusk there was an air display, similar to our Red Arrow displays, (Spitfire type planes) and at 7pm the most spectacular fireworks for a full half hour. Awesome!
There were two "burnoffs" by two F1-11 jets, marking the beginning and end of the fireworks. They sweep low to perform “dump and burn”
... br>7:00 pm: Had a really fun day today, despite the fact that Brisbane is a bit of a bore. Did some gift-shopping, visited City Hall, the Brisbane Museum and climbed the giant clock tower. Made plans to start heading North tomorrow. First stop: Mooloolaba to see Amy Pye! So excited to see the sights (Steve Irwin Zoo, gardens...) and suft and catch up on life with her. And, the warmer weather will ...

They were labeled ingenious descriptions, like 'black pot', 'white bowl', or the even more creative 'woman on horse'. Still, I have decided I like Brisbane a lot better than Sydney, and the city had a nicely relaxed, spaced out feel, so all in all, I would have to say I enjoyed the day.
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia wayfaring... aware of the new weight restriction by the airline. Instead of the usual 30kg check-in luggage, we're now only allowed 23kg. That puts a big pressure on what I can bring, mainly my clothes. The equipment weights around 19kg in total (I know because I have been interstate for videoshoot assignment in the last month), leaving me with a mere 4kg to ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 7dc... s right next door. Not the best dinner. -After our grocery run Matt, Jess, Reuben and I piled in Matt's car and drove up to Mt. Coot-tha which overlooks the city. We took lots of pictures and had a lovely dinner as the sun was setting (unfortunately on the other side of the mountain). -Sunday I returned my book to uni (it was on a 3 day loan and I didn't feel the need to start racking up the fines one week into the semester!) -After returning ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia erinaldo1587... of perfume/aftershave - this became a staple of our time in Brisbane but hey, we are lowly travellers, the chance to smell nice for a while is too big a draw to ignore. By the third day of heading in I think the staff had caught on and were manning the stations we were loitering by straight away. Nonetheless, with some sneaky moves and a feigned interest in buying something, we got to spray and walk once more.

... the edge of Brisbane. It is not especially curvy road, but it is a long upward climb thru the forest to the top of Mt. Coot-Tha. At the top of the mountain is a great viewing area of the entire city of Brisbane with it lush green trees and large river snaking thru the valley and out to the ocean. This all encompassing view reveals Brisbane or Brizzie as the locals fondly refer to their city. After all we are in Australia a country that loves to give nicknames to everything ...
