      ... a satellite. We went out onto our grandparents' dock about the time it was supposed to launch. Even though we were an hour-and-a-half drive away from the launch site, we could still see the light from the flame of the rocket and the smoke that trailed behind the rocket as it went up. So cool.

      ... and I made our way to Kilimanjaro Safari to get Fastpasses and Susan went off to the exit of Expedition Everest where she’d wait it out while we rode after securing our Kilimanjaro Fastpasses. The park was really empty this morning (this would soon change!) and we ended up waiting just about 10 minutes for Everest. This roller coaster gets me every time in the backwards segment – tons of fun, but not one I can re-ride over and over any more.

He was even more impressed after catching the bus out past the gigantic Vehicle Assembly Building to see the largest spacecraft ever built, the Saturn V, and touching a moon rock. And what made the day ever better was the wildlife. KSC is situated next to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
