Our next day began with a 5.40am train to Split. The train went inland through the Kaverner Highlands with fog over forests. Heavy rain earlier meant streams were running fast. Further along the hillside towns grew vines, had grey or cream buildings with orange tiled rooves. Our first view of Split was a very blue sea, homes and other buildings up hillsides, olive groves & vineyards. We are staying at a ...

August 9th: We all thought we were due for a sleep in this morning, but no, that wasn't going to be the case. Nutella woke us all up before 9am, yelling we going hiking up the hill to the Fort (in Omis), if anyone wants to come (and me being the sucker of views, of course I went). At the ...

... we have visited. The areas we drove through to get to the bus station and then on to our hotel were ones that didn't make a person feel welcomed. We will see what tomorrow brings. We met without tour guide late in the afternoon, who gave us some recommendations for dinner, so we walked down town. We found another side of the town, even though graffiti is still everywhere we feel that tomorrow will be a pleasant ...
