... the coastal settnig, I found it to be a special, peaceful, and contemplative place...I lingered around not only capturing photos (one-handed...umbrella in other hand) but also just soaking it all in. I would recommend that anyone of any faith (or no faith), and especially my friends and family of the Catholic faith, make it a point to visit if ever in Juneau for any's worth a stop.

... magnificent. When we got to the top of the fjord the captain turned the ship side on – first port side for half an hour, then starboard for the same so that we had an opportunity to view and listen to Harbour Glacier. Just perfect.

Day 8 on board MV Matanuska 28th Aug
We dropped the hire car off at Ketchikan port after a nice meal at the Harbour Restaurant to board our next ferry at 11.30pm, the MV Matanuska. She was a slightly smaller ship than the Columbia and from our observations, not in quite such good repair, but this time the top bunk had a lot more room, thank goodness!
