    ... do a quick hike at Makapu‘u Point State Wayside to see the lighthouse. Ended up getting into our Turtle Bay VRBO studio around 9pm and I went to bed right away.

    ... homeless people wandering or sleeping rough, and it seems to be a political debate no-one wants to get into. Despite that, we always felt safe and comfortable walking everywhere whatever the time of day or night. There is an extremely high police presence, either on pushbike, motorbike, patrol car or on foot, and we never saw any trouble.
