... entrance 20 mins before it opened, first in line and then hiked the 20mins walk through beautiful botanical gardens (5000 species of plants) to the waterfall. Around 1,000 people a day make their way to this 13.5m drop waterfall into a 10m deep pool. Dave and I enjoyed 20mins of this magnificent beauty, solely by ourselves. As soon as the first set of tourists arrived we were out.

It probably took me about 30-40mins at a reasonable pace to reach the top with a couple ...

Some places come with a list of must-see sites, of doing requisite things. These are readily identified well before arrival, by the volumes of people asking in declarative sentences – you will see x? And so it was on Oahu:

. Pearl Harbor Memorial: Extolled by many and honourably presented. For me, it was yet another spot on ...

... me 35-40 USD and the shuttle is only 14 USD.

Being airborne on my flight with Alaska (!!) Airlines I was already chatting with the person next to me. Kathy from Nevada (but living in Idaho) travels with her best friend and the parents of her friend for one week to O'ahu for vacation. Us three girls on the right side of the aisle played a game for quite some while. On the iPad, four photos were shown which had a common denominator - being a word. ...
