... Oregon, there were more and more logging trucks hauling huge logs -we think they're cedar. Some logs were 4ft in diameter and most trucks could only haul 3 of them.

We stayed at the Premier RV Resort in Coburg (just north of Eugene, OR). Although a very nice facility, we had serious problems with their power supply - the 50amp plug surged power and the 30amp plug kept blowing the fuse. Nobody came to check, we won't be back. ...

... t be back. The biggest employer in town is Monaco Coach Corp who build motorhomes (Monaco, Beaver, Safari, Holiday Rambler and Roadmaster chasis), school buses and commercial trucks. The downturn in the economy has affected their business so they've laid off 450 employees (they had 2,225). One thing we didn't know - Monaco was originally owned by Harley Davidson Inc.

... under highway 101 into a wild grotto where we are greeted with sea lions. A male and his harem. The groaning noises echo through the caves and I stand and watch as they perch on a rock with the sea crashing against them. We also observe many different sea birds too.

... in honor of Andy and Urs Johnson (Andy grew up near here). We also watched Oregon slaughter Tennessee while Michigan and Michigan State were winning and Penn State was losing.

Tomorrow we want to see Sacramento and the state house to add to our list. We
don't know if Yosemite will draw us back for another day, or we'll go on
to Sequoia, but that's the next day. Nice to be flexible.
