David Shuv St. Rosh Pina, Israel, 12000
I can't believe how fast time is flying. I've already been here for almost three months!
My parents were in Israel for 2 weeks, and luckily I got the time off to go traveling with them. It was really nice to show them the kibbutz and the other places I've been. And of course to see some new places myself. We went to the Sea of Galilee, Akko, Jerusalem, Dead Sea, Masada, the Negev Desert (stayed in a bedouin tent!), Jaffa, and some ...
Shalom shalom!
Just getting back in to the routine of things after traveling with Tjitske for a week. It was amazing! She stayed for only six days, and we did so much during that time!
The first day we spent in Tel Aviv, one of my good friends Boaz's friend showed us around the old port of Jaffa and took us to the beach. That night we stayed in the Magic House, this place owned by an old hippy guy I know through some people at the kibbutz. It's a crazy ...
Hey everyone!
I can't believe how long it's been since I last wrote.
I'm starting to kind of settle into a routine here. Work is exhausting and gets pretty tedious (making chicken soup every morning for several weeks is not really intellectually stimulating), but I'm still enjoying it, getting along with my colleagues so it's nice. I cut my thumb pretty badly last week, I almost chopped off a piece of it. Luckily it's healing pretty nicely, but I bang my hand into things all the ...
It really was a quick stop here. I arvied in the hot part of the day, wondered around the pictresque streets, ate a nice falafal meal, took a few photos and got on the bus to Zefat. All this took about 3 hours as I could not be botered to walk - it is still so hot. I think I must have sat down on ever shady bench in the town!
... amazing people and although I only spent 3 days with them it seemed like I knew then a lot better than that. On the 1st day we went straight to the river to have a swim which was lovely with a few beers.
After the beers Naomi suddenly heard of a gig she really wanted to go to, a band named seven. I said I would go with her so I drove us both (I had drank the least) and it was a really good night, the music was acoustic and very nice and the bar was ...
Nazareth to the Golan Heights
On a last minute decision we decided to rent a car. We are very happy we did because we saw a lot of things in a short period of time for a pretty good price. We rented a car from Avis for 2 days and per day it cost $44 plus and an extra $11 in full insurance. Avis has a bunch of rental places but they don't have one in Nazareth but they do in Tiberias. The closest one to Nazareth is a small town ...

Acre, Israel brisko... of a double. I asked if we could have them moved together, by leaving a note for housekeeping (by drawing a diagram of 2 people in the bed together) and left 1 Jordanian Dinar as a tip. When we came back into the room it had been turned into a romantic King bed with crisp white doona, and towels folded into the shape of love hearts! The bath mat was shaped into a rose and happy faces were put on the washcloths with coloured thread. It made our day.
Umm Qais, Jordan heatheravan... time to head back to the condo... Eddie took a different route home so we were able to see a different side to the area. Thank goodness for GPS!!!! Dinner was at the condo and Dumameit had a fabulous meal for us. Chicken, veggies, salad, and bread. We all ate well! The rest of the evening was spent packing, visiting, and enjoying our time there. Time for bed as Barb, Les and I were flying to Amman the next morning and the taxi was coming at 5:00am!
Acre, Israel kcroone... The view, however, is what took my breath away. From the hilltop you can see Lebanon, Palestine/Israel, the disputed territory of the Golan Heights, and Syria. I stood looking at the scenery, bewildered by the whole controversy that from up top looking below seemed so ridiculous. I'm from South Dakota and was brought up learning and experiencing the Native American culture. In their religion, land is not owned by anybody but mother earth, which is one ...
