... seeing will be done in the next few days. Bernie lights the big wood fire and well......we're happy to stay in for the day. (All those days spent in Robert St, lighting the fires have paid off Elsie & Keith! He lights a mean fire!!!!). Toby is doing much much better this afternoon. ... out there? We drank too much wine and felt it the next day. Some more than others. SO far we have managed to teach 2 germans, 2 english and a canadian the game. It's become a mission of mine.
The next day we still managed to get up and go for a 2 hour bike ride through the nearby villages which once again were all shut and was very dead around here, but very pretty surroundings to look at.
The work is starting ...

... roses I think. They have 50 different types. Digging up roses is tough and thorns are slightly annoying but compared to the last place, this is easy. I have also been cutting down tree branches and putting them through a wood chipper. Put on my ear protectors and just push the branches down. Something new for my resumé! I just made a fire in our place so hopefully it'll be a bit warmer ...

... On top of all that, I stood on a toad! I came outside carrying a bag of rubbish and stood on what I thought was a shoe at the time, until I walked back and Carl asked who stood on a toad? Was pretty horrible. It hadn't quite died either so fran and Maria tried to scrape it up with a dustpan and brush which took ages and was hilarious. Anyway, Carl gave us a lift to the town centre and we rushed around trying to find our bus, which we made JUST in time, for only 4 euros for ...

... little to no English which is better than our attempt at French. We are saved by a Canadian traveller who is almost OTT fluent in French, but recruited, nonetheless as our personal translator/mediator.

Their farm is amazing, taken up mostly by one of the largest and most beautiful gardens in Brittany, filled with an immaculate variety of plants, fruit trees, flowers, bushes and of course their prized possessions; roses. ...
