Very wet here now but still reasonably warm, moving slowly North and heading for Rouen today. We heads to IKEA en route to Oissel and had a little shop for goodies for the Motorhomes before heading to the aire at Oissel. Decent weather and lovely to walk on the banks of the Seine again. ... to warm and sunny though the Loire looked ominously high. The water was above the normal level and the grass was sitting in the water.
We glimpsed chateaux alongside the road, some with steep grey flat roofs and some with cone shaped pinnacles.

After Azay we drove to Chateau Usse, but it was closed. A sign noted that the chateau would re-open in February. We give it a miss, although a young woman leaving through the gate lets Cath step in to take a photo. It is the chateau that inspired Charles Perrault when he wrote Sleeping Beauty. Walt Disney also used Usse as the model for the castle in the cartoon film Sleeping Beauty, and the castle in Disneyland. It does look like a fairy princess castle ...
